Rakumux works fully without an account. Signing in adds AI session titles, which name your sessions, the agent feed, new sessions and replies from rakumux.com, and rtop there, all of them for any account, Free or Pro. Accounts are by invitation for now: join the waitlist at rakumux.com.

Sign in from the terminal

Rakumux signs in with a short code that you approve in a browser, on this computer or any other, so it works the same over SSH:
1

Ask for a code

In Rakumux mode press a, click a Sign in at the bottom right of the footer, or open Settings → Account. From a shell, rakumux account login does the same.
2

Open the link

Rakumux shows a code, a link and its QR code. Open the link in any browser, or scan the QR code with your phone. Over SSH, c in the sign-in dialog copies the link to your local clipboard (in terminals that let programs set it).
3

Approve

Sign in at rakumux.com (or create your account), check that the code matches, and approve. Rakumux picks up the sign-in by itself.
Approve only a code you started yourself, on your own machine: rakumux.com never sends you this link. Approving signs the terminal showing the code in to your account. It can read your chats, shares its agents’ chats with rakumux.com, and runs the replies and new sessions you send it.

Your account

Signed in, a (or Settings → Account) shows who you’re signed in as. Everything above is on while you’re signed in; there are no switches. Sign out to stop it on that machine. On the web, rakumux.com stays the public site; while you’re signed in, its header shows Open app in place of Sign in. Open app, and signing in, take you to your Sessions. In the web app’s header, the Rakumux logo goes back to Sessions, and at the top right ≡ shows or hides your feed beside them; the other pages are under the Settings gear next to it:

What runs on your machine

Signing in starts a small background service for your account, rakumux status-service. Like the server, it keeps running when you quit Rakumux, and Rakumux starts it again when needed.
  • Your sign-in is stored in ~/.rakumux/sensagent/credentials/, readable only by you, and renewed automatically before it expires.
  • Its log is ~/.rakumux/logs/status-service.log.
  • Sign out with Settings → Account (o) or rakumux account logout. Signing out also revokes the machine’s sign-in, so a copy of it can’t be renewed; Rakumux says if it couldn’t.
Signing out of the website in a browser doesn’t sign the terminal out; use one of the above. To sign out every machine at once, for example if one was lost, use Sign out all terminals on rakumux.com/account: each machine signs out the next time it checks in, within a few minutes while it’s running. A Sprite you connected has its own credential: revoke it there too.
